I'm getting inspired with an art journal page for Christmas in July prep and creating for the fall craft season.
There is a concept in The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron that talks about priming the pump to open up your creativity. I find that daily art journal pages help me start creating with nothing particular in mind. And it's become a form of meditation that in a wonderful way helps to bring up in a creative way whatever is going on that day. So it starts me physically working with mixed media and clears the cobwebs to get me imagining what I want to create.
Today's Art Journal Page:
I’ve been sick for a few days so decided to go sit in the sun and art journal (where a big fat leaf came to play). My new solar lamp came so I hung that in the garden followed by Zingerman’s hot cocoa cake and Häagen-Dazs ice cream, lingering treats left over from the holiday weekend. Life is good.
It seems a little weird to be pulling out Fall and Holiday supplies in the summer but it’s a life saver during the busy fall season.
